The Sub-trainians

This is another brand new game for 2004. Open Management is a United based game but with a twist. The basic rules are the same but the GM has introduced some of the better ideas from other games to make this game, in effect, an amalgam of decent games. One of the unique features is that the game information is totally open. The details of all players are known to every manager and also the line-ups of each game so tactics can be deduced. Another feature is a linkman player who is a midfielder. He can be defensive and add his levels to defence like a Roy Keane, or attacking and add levels to the forwards, like Paul Scholes!

The game starts with 16 teams in two divisions, but expansion has added a third division of 8 to make 24 teams in the game.

 Got it right!

It was not my favourite week this week. We had two games, home and away against Rangers FC and we started at home. We sussed out that they would be using their attack to break us down so we opted to allow their defenders room by close marking their attackers. It worked to perfection and Southwark scored the only goal of the game. Away from home it was the same story. We negated their attack but were unable to use home advantage to create a chance for ourselves. So a 0-0 draw was always going to be the most likely outcome.
