Ghenghis
Huascaran

This is a brand new game
based on the United format that is used in many of the other games that I play.
It is an e-mail based game with a four weekly deadline. It is quite expensive
to play, at £20 per season and only time will tell if it is worth that kind of
money.
At set up, the GM
started with 16 teams but mangers have dropped out leaving a current structure
of 12 teams.
The rules do differ
quite a lot from the standard United game. The match mechanics are very similar
but there are a lot of added extras. The real bonus for me is that the
development of players is not solely dependent on playing results. Trainers can
be bought to improve players.
I have high hopes for
this game and I really do think that the higher subscription fee will be value
for money. One feature that may well appeal to readers is that the game will be
geared to allow on-line orders to be input.

Season 3
28th October 2009
After two seasons of
massive score-lines like 24-7, the GM has decided, quite rightly, to make these
seem more realistic. The highest scoring game in week one of season three was 7-6,
which while very unusual is quite possible. The biggest winning margin was 4
goals.
Of course,
season three sees a new beginning for us. The original Huascaran side was fine
when the game started, but our mistake was not to invest in the ground. This meant
that we ticked along, but could not compete in the transfer market with clubs
who had a bigger weekly income. So when the chance came, we took over a
different team and moved their franchise, lock stock and barrel to Inca
Heights. Yes we lost our original players but we have a chance to start again!
The team had one final
league game to play and it was away at title hopefuls Oyster Lake Club. And
what a way to finish the season off! Lake were flying and soon took a two goal
lead. It could have been more but Ardor was playing a blinder in goal. Then
they sat back and allowed Diaz to score twice before half time. The second half
was the same, but this time Lake scored three. At 5-2 the game was over and
they started to look at other games to see if the title was theirs. We took
full advantage of their loss of concentration! Goals from Ball, Gallardo and
Ball again saved a point for us!
Oyster Lake Club 5 - 5 Huascaran.
News on the
transfer front this week. Our academy has found a new apprentice player,
Palacios.
