LATEST NEWS 4th April 2002

Mike, I think you may be aware now of the move of the Railway Club of Wales from the Gwili Railway to the S.V.R. bringing with them the Locomotive Rosyth ) the overhaul being carried out at Upper Bank, consisting of, removal of the boiler from the frames, fitting new tubes. and some work on the cab.We understand that this work could be completed by Spring 2002.
Where hopefully it will also undertake it's inaugural steaming over Swansea Vale Metals

Latest Update on Peckett
The Peckett steam loco is in the shed awaiting it's 10 year boiler certificate restorationUPDATE ENDS.



April 1998/9/2000

9642 continues on Hire to The Dean Forest Railway for the forseeable future.
But the Swansea Vale Railway will continue to be the loco's base of Operations.



May 1998
Half of Six Pit Station opened for 'Friends of Thomas the Tank' event.
Funds permitting Phase 2 will be constructed in the near future

November 7th 1998
9642 is pictured below at the Dean Forest Railway having arrived at Norchard Stn, and is seen running around it's train for the return journey to Lydney

During the day long visit, the SVR and the DFR teamed up to restore the Rail track, at Whiteball Crossing, this enabled the full journey to Parkend, see below
