part of
Swansea railway history
The Swansea Vale Railway educational visits for schools
and groups, give both children and adults an insight into Rail Transport, and
the history of the Swansea area in days gone by.
Briefly, the visit includes: An optional visit to the Maritime Museum; a Steam Train ride; a conducted tour of the shed and sidings, where engines and wagons can be seen in various stages of restoration.
Also the sidings tour will show items of the days of steam, i.e. turntable pit, ash pit and the old Engine Shed that was Demolished over 30 years ago.
An optional slide show can be arranged at your school or meeting place, following your visit.
