Cleaning of lower courts - February 2009
The worst snow in twenty years prevented the planned start of work but once underway it was carried out very swiftly and efficiently by Sweepfast of Birmingham. The amount of sludge that was extracted from the carpets had to be seen to be believed. Its removal will allow water to drain through the previously clogged membrane in the carpet. The photos below show the scale of the operation and the specialised equipment that the firm use. The last photo shows the re-sanded courts ready for play.
Now the challenge is to keep them clear of leaves and debris and to tackle the build up of any moss.
