The British Sundial Society encourages its members to record the location and description of sundials in the U.K. and Ireland. Each dial recorded is assigned a unique 'SR No.' identification number by the society's Registrar.
Forms to assist with dial recording are available and the data from these forms is summarised and published in the printed Sundial Register which is updated every four years.
