On the Cover of our May - June 2009 Issue

On our Cover.
This is chairman Simon Bishop’s superbly restored 1929 Senior ‘As-U-Dryv’, which he has just driven out of the garage under its own power for the first time since 1964. As the car doesn’t yet have a windscreen or roof, Simon suggested waiting until it was complete before putting it on the front cover, but it is also a superb photo, and once the roof is covered you won’t be able to see the mechanism by which it concertinas back and down over the rear seat. So as we would hardly have noticed the lack of windscreen if he hadn’t told us, I thought it was much too good not to put on the cover. Also, I am sure we can look forward to seeing pictures of the complete car - hopefully in the not too distant future.
