On the Cover of our July - August 2008 Issue

On our Cover.
Ian Blackburn takes his 1936 Nine Sports 'Buttercup' up the hill at the Bluehills Mine at Land’s End in 1977.  Ian has owned APW 971 for 45 years and has taken part in many trials with the car.
Ian's father paid £15 for the car for his 16th birthday present in 1962, but he was 17 before he managed to get it on the road after encountering many snags.
Ian learned to drive in it and took his test in it. But he didn't like the dark green colour and decided to hand paint it in Duradio Pale Primrose with a 2" brush.
The car has been 'Buttercup' ever since.
