The Midlands Air Museum
After meeting at the Ryton Organic Gardens just outside Coventry for lunch, the cavalcade set off for the Midlands Air Museum at Baginton on the fringes of Coventry airport. Here the cars were ushered into the airplane display area and parked around and under ’planes - what an amazing sight! By the way, the Vulcan was bought by the museum for £5000 about five years ago and was towed into its present position, having flown into neighbouring Coventry Airport, fully operational and airworthy. They even had to remove the explosive charges from the ejector seats and remove sensitive military equipment before the ’plane went on display!
