This isn't meant to be a self-indulgent, narcissist piece about me; some TRB readers may be curious as to who pens this little-visited oasis of Spectrum games reviews ;-). Well, for starters, there's a nearly-flattering picture of me to your right. Well, for starters: my name is Michael Fraser ('hello') and I currently live in the [West] Yorkshire city of Leeds. For those outside the UK, Leeds is 320km north of London. I've lived in Leeds since 1998 and - so far - I've got no reason to move. I've moved about the UK a bit - I was born in Hartlepool waaaay back in September 1974 (you work out how old I am!) then moved with my parents to Scarborough in 1988. Hartlepool was a bit grim and rubbish when I lived there (Thatcher's Britain....), but now it seems to be a lot better. Scarborough is a lot quieter compared to Leeds, though it's a reasonably pleasant town to visit. My work is based in Leeds - I'm a Communications Leader for a finance company and they've kept me in full employment since 1999. Before then I worked for a Train Company. The latter job - whilst provided me with a lot of friends and a good start to life in Leeds - wasn't the most ideal role for me. As for hobbies and stuff; I have several. In addition to maintaining TRB, I am a general 'computer enthusiast'. I occasionally refer to myself as a 'computer geek', which is okay. (Geeks are nerds with social skills, after all). I also have real friends, enjoy a social life and have a long-standing affair with messrs vodka and coke. *ahem*. I am a discerning TV viewer; I won't watch any old tripe. Frasier, Drop the Dead Donkey (sadly missed) and Will & Grace being three favourite programmes. Of course, being a computer geek I regularly watch some Star Trek (prefer Voyager and Deep Space 9 to The Original Series). Ah well.... I like to read; Colin Bateman is a favourite author (he wrote books such as Divorcing Jack, Maid of the Mist, Turbulent Priests etc) as is Douglas Coupland (Generation X, Microserfs, Shampoo Planet etc). No bookshelf can be complete without 1984 or the Lord of the Rings books either. And I can't forget Dilbert ....
Well I'm starting to waffle a bit now; I also run a weblog, called Hatblog. The link is here, should you be vaguely interested.
