It all began with a hymn lyric written to
fulfil a need for a Sunday service. It went on from there, to more hymn lyrics, cantatas, children's songs and from there to all-age Bible stories, prayers and all manner of stuff.
Well, why don't you just browse through the
pages and see for yourself?
Just one more thing, before you do:
The Basic Concept
(Cue trumpet fanfares and alleluias)
Fundamentally, I believe that God is love. I
was lucky enough to grow up in a home where that was made real in every aspect of life, and I have to believe that God is even more loving, even more generous than were my parents. That means, he doesn't want me or anyone else to be afraid of him - fear is never the basis of a good relationship, and God wants relationships more than anything else in this or any other universe. So if your idea of a good Christian upbringing is to put the fear of God into children so they don't embarrass or inconvenience their elders, then don't bother to look at the rest of it. And if your idea of evangelism is 'frighten them into the kingdom', then again you're probably better off elsewhere.
If, on the other hand, you want to explore
further the idea that God is love - pure unconditional love (which of course has vital implications about right and wrong, but let's not be simplistic about it) then you might just find something in this set of pages that may help.
Oh, just click a link and get on with it!
