| We took a Garmin E-trex GPS with us to assist in following the
route. It also acts as a trip computer, giving data on speeds, distance,
altitude, etc. It was mounted on the bars of the bike and is waterproof.
We feel that the GPS was invaluable, particularly at unmarked junctions, allowing us to keep moving without the need to refer to maps. We estimate that we saved approx 30 - 60 minutes per day by using GPS Before the ride, we picked out waypoints on the C2C map, got the grid references from Autoroute, put them into a spreadsheet, and then downloaded them into the GPS by cable. To help anybody else, we have included the spreadsheet below. I am sure you would be able to modify the data for other GPS systems. For obvious reasons, we cannot show the waypoints superimposed on the map, but with a bit of time on autoroute (or similar), you will be able to see the route we took!
