Club Format
Continuous Play Format
The format for the Club Championship is an 11-point match competition based upon a loose, Round Robin format in which we play all other players at least twice.  The percentage of matches won will determine the Club Champion. An even balance of opponents is to be maintained without bias towards any particular player. To this end players will have to ‘play on demand’ and must, when the option is available, play the opponent they have played least or an opponent arranged by the Fixture Secretary. NB: 11 point matches against guests will not count towards the Championship unless the guest is an established player.

Qualifying Status - To qualify for Championship status a minimum of 34 x 11-point Round Robin matches have to be played (or 20 for newcomers joining after June 30th). To deter players from protecting a good average after they reach the required 34 (or 20) matches they must play on demand when attending Club nights. Absent players, who, in the opinion of fellow members are avoiding Club nights to protect a good average can be withdrawn from the Club Championship subject to a majority vote of all members (excepting the ‘absent’ player). The Club Champion will be the player with the best average at the end of the year (approx. 2nd Tuesday in December).

1-Knockout
1-point Knockout: Played on a weekly basis, entrants being those members present and willing to be entered for the draw at 7.30 to 7.45 each evening. Scoring System: The winner of the knockout will gain 3 points and the Runner-up, 1 point. The winner of the Knockout competition will be the player with the most points at the end of the year (approx. 2nd Tuesday in December).

1000-to-1
Any player winning ten consecutive 11-point matches will be awarded a trophy.

Ties
Should two or more players share the same scores at the year end, a playoff will decide final positions (see below).

Time constraints
Cut off times for last matches of the evening are 21:30 for 11-point matches,  however, this timing can be ignored if both players agree to a later starting time.
