Government Pre-school Education Grants

What is the grant?

The government provides grants for pre school education. This is given to all 3 and 4 year olds, starting the term after their third birthday.

Is it all passed onto the parents?

We always pass the full amount onto the parent. Once the grant is received, we will deduct the full amount from the next invoice, giving you a period where you will not have to pay anything at all.

How much is it?

At present, the total annual amount is £1,520. This is the maximum claim that can be made; this is divided into three terms over the year.

Working Tax Credit

What is the grant?

The grant is provided for a number of purposes, one of which is child care assistance. It can pay for up to 70% of nursery fees.

Who gets it?

It is means tested – to find out if you qualify by visiting the Inland Revenue web site there is a calculator, which asks a few simple questions regarding earnings and ages of your children – and then gives details of any entitlement you may have.

Remember this is in addition to the children’s allowance everybody is entitled to. To access this website, the address is www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk
