Report from the show.
Well
what can I say what a fantastic weekend the weather was with us for a change
although the nights a bit chilly, first of all I would like to give a big thank
you to all of you that attended an supported our worthy cause.
I have been running shows at this venue for 3 years now and I have never had
such a great crowd of people than we had this weekend, I felt quite humbled by
the comments I received over the weekend, for those of you that know me I am a
bit on the shy side, but I was even persuaded to get up and do a duet with the
lovely shell from No Alibi on Friday evening with a bit of help from my old mate
Womble.
I would also like to thank John our host for the weekend and to Tina for the loan of the field without whom this event could not take place. my other thanks go out to my crew especially Chris who is always there to help me in times of stress, to Colin otherwise know as the garden gnome to those that know him, he was taken ill on the Friday night and was rushed to hospital but he is doing ok now and well on the way to recovery, he told me the other day he cant wait to get back to the show in August. the rest of my thanks goes to all the other helpers I had without their help I would have not been able to get as much done as I wanted, cheer guys you know who you all are I am terrible with name you know that. lol.
Friday night we kicked of with a young band called Termoil what can I say they are a bunch of young lads with loads of enthusiasm and the determination to succeed the people loved you keep up the good work looking forward to having you at the show in August cheers guys. the second band that we had are called NoAlibi I am just a bit biased towards these I love Shell the lead singer to bits well done Shel especially wanting to do a duet with me you must be brave, lol.
Saturday the weather started of a bit cloudy but the sun soon broke through and the field started filling up, Womble & his good lady Sally got the things moving by getting the silly games on the go great fun was had by all, then the highlight for a lot of people (don't know why) but we had 4 rally virgins to deal with nudge nudge wink wink, anyway we got them good and proper all they could say was we will get our own back.
The first band on was our local hero's the Nylon Brothers well known for Scott's jokes, they did there usual set of great music. must admit I did not have chance to see them myself as per usual I was stuck sorting out the background stuff. well done Scott.
The evening kicked of with young band yet again now I know I should but for the life of me cant remember the name of them but if they care to let me know I will put their correct details in, lol. they were good and got the evening off to a flying start. they were followed by a Bedford band called Spareparts they got the marquee rocking good time with some great favourites of all of us well done lads I will definitely want you again thanks.
Then came the headline band Badbreed which I know the crowd love they kept everyone rocking and dancing with their great set they do well done Neil and the lads see you in August.
Our good friend Creature provided the sounds between the bands and after the show until he blew all his fuses in his decks and had to cut the night short if not I expect we would still be there now 3 days later a nobody wanted it to finish. just a quick happy birthday to Juke who came along just for the Saturday evening, should have told me babe I would have done something special, wink wink.
To all the stall holders that came along I hope you all enjoyed it and will come back again I know Ray & Andrea will have you got any General mustard cakes left ?
If you wish to see all the pictures you will have to go of this site as I did not have enough time to do any myself but would like to thank Captain Smurf and Creature for doing the honours with the candid shots they took check out:
We owe a big thank you to Trikemaster of Tewksbury for sponsoring the bike show well done to Dave and the team. see you all soon. and finally I would like to give a big hug to my wife and daughter who throughout the weekend kept me supplied with my fags and food, thank you.
below is a few comments from the bands & people that came along to the show received via emails:
Ken,
We would just like to say a huge thanks for the invite to play at the Drink The
Pub Dry event. I can say on behalf of all 3 of us, how much we enjoyed the
reception, and also the reaction to the 90mins we were allowed to play. We had a
lot of compliments given to us afterwards, when we were milling around! It is
certainly appreciated! It was great to see the marquee full, and with a constant
crowd of people dancing throughout the set! Shame we couldn't have done our full
2hour set, but the 90mins we did play just flew by far too quickly!!
Of course, it goes without saying, if you, or anyone else for that matter, ever
need our services again, please feel free to contact us!
Cheers!!

Just a quick note to say a huge

Made my 40th birthday a night to remember.

I have a lot of experience of putting on rallies, and I know how much hard work goes into them, and the stress it can cause.
You did yourself proud hun, and I will def be there again in August. I shall also be at Creature's gig, so we shall have to share a beer.
I also wanted to ask you if you could bring the NABD stall to the Siobhanathon? 3-5 August at The Fox & Duck, Stotfold, Herts. If you are free, I shall forward you some details.
Thanks again Ken, good luck with it all mate.
Cheers,
Juke xx
