Map of England and Wales showing the Prevalence of Heppenstalls and Variants in 2002 by Postcode Area
This 2002 map of England and Wales shows the postcode areas colour-coded in proportion to the prevalence of Heps per million population in that postcode area. The key also shows the equivalent Banwell index ranges in brackets. A Banwell index of <1 means a lower prevalence of Heps in that postcode area than in England and Wales as a whole and an index of >1 means a higher prevalence. For example a postcode area with a Banwell index of 3 has three times the national average prevalence of Heps.
The greatest prevalence of Heps was in the postcode areas of WF Wakefield (1152 per million population), HU Huddersfield (995), HX Halifax (675) and S Sheffield (407) with a moderately increased prevalence in some surrounding postcode areas (BD Bradford 281, HG Harrogate 229, YO York 171, LS Leeds 169, DN Doncaster 167 and LN Lincoln 151). The overall prevalence in England and Wales was 71 per million population.
