Said Goodbye to your PC?

Have a shiny new Mac?

MED v2 is working great with VMware fusion on the MAC

(For more info visit: www.vmware.com )

With native Windows XP in the bootcamp partition, you are able to use both the DirectSound driver and default hardware device driver, there's no clipping other than a click on the start of playback but we think that is due to the psuedo-driver VMware fusion is using to force high-powered soundcards to emulate a Creative SoundBlaster, but it works great. MIDI files load 'much' faster than expected, barely any lag in them at all.
Even playing complex MIDI modules at full tempo is great (doesn't sound very aesthetically
pleasing, but it is working fine!) System is responsive regardless of playback mode.

Ex Amiga OctaMED and MED Soundstudio PC users who went over to the MAC should now be very happy.
( I certainly am ) :)

There's a bit of a learning curve, but with all the great tutorials online now that's not really an issue, the product has matured greatly in many respects since windows V1.

MIDI works great-- In fact it's Phenomenal!! --

I also took to playing the multi-tibral Blade Runner over MIDI just to scare my keyboard into another round of Vangelis inspired 80's music, That went well.

Last, I took The Sting's "Entertainer" piece with a appropriately tinny sounding piano and sped it up as fast as it could go, until it was just a blur of rolling crazy notes and the program (and MIDI) did fine with it.

MIDI input was also working very well in both directions, bank changes, patch changes, inputting notes, it did them all nicely. I used to have problems with bank changes, but with this V2 they all did fine.
You have my seal of approval, and I look forward to making some wicked new versions of tunes from my earlier MED archive now ;)

ATB,
Chris

So even if you are now a MAC user, you can use MED again.

Moral of this story?

If you switched from the Amiga ( or more recently, a PC ), to the MAC, but miss using MED, simply get that piece of excellent vmware software and start MEDing again
