P

icture The Scene I have just returned from what can only described as one of the Worst weekends I have ever spent in my Favourite City of Glasgow , I have just seen Celtic Lose the Scottish Cup to Rangers in the cruellest form a Goal in the last minute, after having been twice in front.

I could not wait till get home & you could not Imagine the shock & sadness I felt when I opened my Subscription copy of the “Celtic View “ Too see That Jimmy Quinn Had Died, Immediately my memory raced back 30 years to the day I meet Jimmy Quinn he was a pal of My Cousin Michael they both lived in the village of Croy, While I was over in my Aunts on Holiday Mike had asked Jimmy to get me a few autographs & Kindly enough Jimmy asked would the Wee Laddie Like to come up to the Park, So off I went with Michael & My Father On a Tuesday morning & we meet Jimmy in the Car Park at Celtic Park , If you are a Celtic fan I don’t Have to explain How I was feeling If your not well I can’t Explain.

I was taken in to the Trophy Room & into The Changing Rooms & got to sit in the Dug Out & watched stars Such as Jimmy Johnstone, Billy McNeill, Lou Macari & Bobby Lennox I even got to meet the Sean Fallon & The Great Jock Stein, one Point I should add is this was in the days when the tour of a Football Stadium was an unheard of thing, So Jimmy’s Death made My Mind roam back to that day in August 72 & Below is a Wee Memento of the occasion that has survived I think Jimmy must have went round every body in the building that day & for that there was always a place in my heart for this unsung Celtic hero …… May God Have Mercy on his Soul & He & his Kin Will Always be in my thoughts & prayers
