I have established three generations of the Fell Family, beginning with my tenth great grandfather Hughe Fell, who lived in the parish of St Clement Danes, London. His son Samuel Fell became Dean of Christ Church, Oxford and was host to Charles I during the Civil War when the King made Oxford his headquarters. Samuel's daughter Katherine married George Benson II (1613-92), Dean of Hereford. His son John also became Dean of Oxford and then Bishop of Oxford.
