a Pike angling web site
I have recently had a go at fly fishing for Pike during a PAC organised fly casting lesson at Grafham.
It was a very good taster a session and I enjoyed the method very much. To begin with learning fly casting is difficult but not impossible, I certainly need a lot more practice but the way the fly moves through the water is something else.
I have since bought myself some suitable fly tackle to cast large flies (effectively lures to mimic bait fish rather than actual flies) and to handle fighting Pike.
I caught my first Pike using a fly shown opposite, only a small fish but it fired my enthusiasm! To play a Pike with the angler literally holding the line in direct contact with the fish is a fantastic way to fish.
