Makers of bespoke windows for period cottages, listed buildings and properties in conservation
areas. We make windows in the traditional manner with mortice and tenon joints and suitable moulding detail
for the period.
For your feature window , Gothic style or otherwise, provide us with a rough sketch of your idea together with the dimensions of the space it has to fill and we will be pleased to provide you with a free estimate.
We can also repair and renovate most types of windows and can also offer draught-proofing
and conversion to a double glazing system.
The timber we use is either English Oak or European Larch, a very durable softwood. Our aim is to supply
a joinery complete window that will be finished on site by others. We can add draughtproofing and adjust
timber dimensions to take double glazing if planning conditions allow.
We can also supply "new old glass", this is made in the same way as glass used to be, with all the small
imperfections and distortions (barely visible) that give an old building its "twinkle".
Modern Factory made traditional style windows are very efficient and well made but often
do not "look right" in period cottages. They lack the established look of traditional putty
glazing and a good on site painting job.
Our windows are made in the same way period orginals were, they will be glazed the same way and with
little extra cost the glass can also be made to look the same.
Attention to detail makes all the difference and we think you will be pleasantly surprised at how
reasonably priced our joinery is compared to factory, mass produced alternatives.
