Newtown Con FC

The Newtown Con FC was founded Season 2003 /2004, originally known as Albion Football Club and playing at Haskell's Rec, we were named after the Albion Pub on Ringwood Road where most of the original players once drank. In those early days they also sponsored the team, after playing in the original Albion Orange kit for three years the players decided that a change of kit was needed. Since most of the players lived further away from the Albion Pub now decided to approach the Woodman Tavern on Poole Road as a suitable venue for general socializing and after match drinks. Albion Started out in the Bournemouth Sunday division 9 and last year moved up to Division 7 where they finished a well deserved fifth position. The Albion finished the season well and then the name was changed to the current Woodman Football Club. Season 2006 / 2007 will see the Woodman Football Club move to Bournemouth Saturday Division 4 where the line up is the toughest yet. Since then the Club is playing under the name of Newtown Con FC Season 2007/2008 where all of the team drink most weekends.
