The Beatles where John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The four got together in 1962. John, Paul and George had been in the Beatles much earlier, but when drummer Pete Best was rejected by record producer George Martin, Ringo was brought in. There first single was Love Me Do which reached number 17. Please, Please Me was there second single and first number one.

Opportunity knocks for Paul McCartney, born 18th June 1942. The worlds most played song is yesterday. Somewhere in the world at ay given time Yesterday is being played on one or more radio station. This song as made Paul more money than any other Beatles song. Mull of Kintyre one of Paul's solo efforts also gets a lot of airplay. Paul became pops first stirling billionaire early 2001.

Ringo Starr, born Richard Starkey on 7th July 1940. Ringo was the last to join the Beatles and it took him a long time to settle in. Ringo was the best drummer in liverpool and had grown a beard and changed his name long before the other's. After leaving the Beatles he went on to become a reasonable actor. His second wife is Barbars Bach, the bond girl in The Spy Who Loved Me.

Magical Mystery Tour was intended to be a full lenght feature film. It was Paul's idea and was based on the old english tradition of going on trips to blackpool to see the lights. Neither blackpool or the light appear in the film, instead the men go and see a stripper. The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band perform Death Cab For Cutie as one of Paul Raymond's ladies removes her clothing. We never find out what the women of the trip get up to. Ringo puts up a very good performance but the film has little to offer. Paul defends it along the lines that it contains the only performance of i am the walrus.

The Beatles where known for there sense of humour. The above photograph shows them mocking there early look. They featured the same mockery in the video for Hello Goodbye. Many people believe that Queen invented the pop video when they released Bohemian Rhapsody but it was infact the Beatles who killed the radio star. When they tired of personal appearances and touring, they made videos to send to the TV stations.

John Lennon was lost for words for the first time when there manager Brian Epstein died in 1966. Epstein was a Homosexual record shop owner from Liverpool who spotted the Beatles at the Cavern on Liverpool's Mathew Street. Many rumours surfaced that John had had an affair with Epstein. John later admited that they had a brief affair in Spain that was never consumated. Brian also propositioned the first drummer Pete Best, Best said No. Brian died of a drink and sleeping pills over dose, knocking the Beatles for six.

The record producer George Martin is pictured above with Paul, working on Fool On The Hill. George Martin had previously worked on the Goon Show and had no prior experience of rock and roll. He went on to writing film scores. He now talks about the Beatles all the time. George thinks that the white album should have been a single album. He is a fool.

One of the last pictures taken of the four together. Taken in the grounds of John's house.

George Harrison, born 25th February 1943, got his first Beatles A-side with Something. Something reached number one, the video featured all four and there wifes - Linda, Yoko Ono, Patti Boyd and Maureen. George hated Paul McCartney for years after the split and he failed to mention John Lennon in his Autobiography I Me Mine. An attempt on his life was made in the year 2000. He was stabbed several times by a crazy fool who believed that the Beatles where witches.

John Lennon, born 9th October (which is apparently the ninth month?) 1940, was killed in December 1980 by Mark Chapman whom he had earlier given an autograph. He was shot dead outside his home at the Dakota building in New York City. John sang about life beginning at forty, he was wrong.
