Charnborough Irish Red and White Setters
A life on the ocean waves, this is Ruby who often enjoys a days sailing in Wales, her family say she is full of beans with lots of energy and conversation! She is extremely talkative. This is very common, most of my Red and Whites give a gentle soft woof woof woof, to let you know what they want or just to tell you how happy they are which is most of the time! They are a joy to own but need lots of exercise and to run free whatever the weather, definitely not for couch potatoes.
I have been privileged to judge the breed at Championship Show level both in the UK and Eire on many occasions. Judging is always a great honor and responsibility, the future of the breed is in the hands of its breeders but the route they take is often determined by judges decisions. So it's important to steer the breed in the right direction and select stock that is sound and true to type.

Professionally I am a Business Consultant and Trainer so it comes as no surprise that I have been involved in supporting the Kennel Club achieve their aims of improving the quality of Judging as a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer for Regulations and Judging Procedures. I have also been involved in the design and delivery of a number of Seminars on Breed Points and the writing of the 'Blueprint for the Breed' an expansion of the Breed Standard.
Since my first involvement with Irish Red and White Setters in 1980 I have helped and supported the formation and running of the Irish Red and White Setter Club of Great Britain, both as Treasurer for many years and as Chairman from 1999 to 2003. Currently I am a member of the judges sub committee. Owners and Breeders of Red and Whites are the custodians of the Breed today and the Club is there as a vehicle for like minded people to join forces to ensure the qualities of the Irish Red and White Setter are maintained, improved and protected. We also run events where you can see lots of Red and Whites together and talk to owners and breeders. Check out our latest events on our Club Web Site (link below).
