Stronachullin Lodge

Stronachullin Lodge

was built in 1894 as a shooting lodge by Robert Graham-Campbell of Shirvan. The architect was Sir Robert Lorimer, and the house is a Grade B listed building. Built round a courtyard, it was constructed of local rough stone, with traditional harled walls and a slate roof. After some years of being rented to shooting parties, the Graham-Campbells moved in, and the house is still lived in by their descendants. The surrounding rhododendron garden has pleasant walks. Bring your wellingtons!

Walking up through the woods and across a bridge will bring you to an old orchard, full of daffodils in spring time. Walk on to the hills behind which offer wonderful views of Loch Fyne. Though only 2 hours drive from Glasgow, the peace and clean air of this tranquil corner of Argyll is special.

In 1996 the present owners decided to convert the house to provide 3 generous self-catering units, alongside a home for their own families. Careful planning has resulted in comfortable, well-equipped homes, where visitors are sure to feel relaxed and welcome. Each home has a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washer/drier, TV and video recorder, and oil fired central heating with thermostatically controlled radiators. All linen is provided, except for towels.
