13-04-2009. Please note a change to the waters available.
Unfortunately we have not been given the opportunity to lease some of the
Wade Bridge section of the River Blackwater. Simply put, the down stream
section not available is the left hand bank looking from the bridge at Wade
Bridge. We are still available to fish the right hand bank looking down
stream from the bridge at Wade Bridge. The upstream section from the Wade
Bridge is also not available and has been leased from the Broadlands Estate
by a syndicate.

01-04-2009. Please note that fishing on club rivers, streams
and canals for trout, sea trout and salmon during the coarse fishing closed
season is by FLY only. EA Bye Laws apply in all situations.
New.
01-02-2009. Please note that fishing at Hatchets Pond at
night is not permitted. Any club members who are found to have fished at
night at this venue will be severely dealt with by the Committee
13-9-2008. Although rain threatened to spoil the day
eventually we were ferried into the Romsey Show through oceans of mud.
Stewart, Richard, Misha and my self, had many enquiries about the club, and if half
of them result in people joining we will have done well .
Whilst we were there we collected on behalf of the Piam Brown Ward at Southampton Hospital who
specialise in the treatment of children with cancer, and by the feel of the
collection pots we have collected a good chunk of cash to help the children
on the ward. The goodies that the Environment Agency gave us was very
popular especially the booklets aimed at helping the novice angler get into
fishing. All in all, a great day, which was well worth the effort. Many
thanks to anyone who came to support us at the show and to those who donated
cash or took on a membership form. Once again thanks. Martyn Coombes (Club
Sec).
Pictured below with children and staff of the Piam Brown Ward
is Paul Hunt and Keith Allen who are presenting a cheque for £1600 which
was raised during a 48 hour Charity Carp Fishing Match in July 2008 at Nutsey Lake. The Piam
Brown Ward specialises in cancer care for children of all ages and is based at
Southampton Hospital. A huge well done lads, for a fantastic effort .
Our Maintenance Officer Mark Baker has asked me to
remind our members that it is all our responsibilities to be vigilant whilst
visiting our club waters. We have recently had to pay for 3 loads of fly
tipped rubbish to be removed from our land. This has resulted in us paying
for 3 skips and new fencing and gates at Icehouse. There has also been an
incident where one of our padlocks has been dismantled and left on the
ground. This had to have been done by a key holder. If you are caught, not
only will you be expelled from the club but we will seek to prosecute for
criminal damage. You have been warned.
I would like to bring to our memberships
notice that EACH person wishing to be on any club waters during the period
of Dusk to Dawn MUST purchase a 3rd Rod / Night Fishing permit. To clarify
this further. If an Adult member wishes to take his / her partner and any
children with them during the period of Dusk to Dawn a 3rd Rod / Night
Fishing permit must be purchased for each individual.
Please note that the upstream and
downstream stretches of the River Blackwater at Wadebridge are still with us
and available for us to fish but was left out of the new club book. The
Broadlands stretch is not open for TVAC & SPS Members.
Please note that when fishing at Whinwhistle
or Woodington Fisheries your membership ONLY covers admittance for the
person who's name is on the membership card. Additional guest tickets for
family members and guests can be purchased at the venue. YOU MUST BOOK IN AT
THE LODGE BEFORE FISHING ON THE COARSE FISHERY AND YOU MUST PHONE TO BOOK
PRIOR TO ARRIVING FOR FISHING AT WOODINGTON ON: 01794
324485. Mobile: 0781 6187648. Please also note that you MUST now pay for a
half price ticket on the trout fishery Woodington.
I have been asked to clarify our clubs rule on the
disposal of rubbish. Many of you are bagging up and taking away your rubbish
to be disposed of at home but it appears that an alarming amount of anglers
are bagging up their rubbish but are dumping it next to the venues gate or
toilet. This must stop. Please take your
rubbish home, do not leave it at the lake. Most of this discarded rubbish
appears to be being dumped after anglers go home after night fishing
sessions and so this situation will be monitored and if necessary the venue
will be closed for night fishing.
Please read your membership books. Many anglers are falling foul
of the club rules purely because they are not reading the rules.
Disclaimer: Whilst we warmly welcome you to the club
website and the facilities that we offer , you are reminded of the dangers of
water and the risk of drowning for the foolhardy. The waters shown on this
website are those expected to be available to the club members but TVAC &
SPS cannot accept responsibility for any alteration or change to the
availability of waters which may occur from time to time. Should such
alterations occur, they will be notified to the membership at the earliest
opportunity.
