TVAC & SPS is always
striving to improve and enhance the enjoyment of its members. The Club has
amongst its members, some persons who need a little assistance to enable them to
gain access to swims and venues. It is to that aim that TVAC & SPS have
instigated a scheme to provide where possible, level and mud free access.
Although
this scheme is in its infancy the club has already built many hard standing
swims and have in many cases provided hard mud free access to these swims from
the car parks such as Ice House Lake and Marchwood Lake. A purpose built car park for disabled and
elderly anglers with level access to swims has been provided at the rear of Willow lake. The project at Willow has demanded
considerable physical and financial commitment to achieve.
Due to the fact that angling takes us into
close proximity to deep water, steep and slippery lake and river banks and
uneven access paths it is not possible or reasonably practical to provide easy
access to every club venue, and to provide easy access to all our venues would
be financially impossible. The club recommends that anglers with mobility
problems should seek the help of others when planning to visit venues that
have difficult terrain. The club also strongly recommends that persons with
reduced mobility, who wish to fishing at night should not fish alone incase the
angler gets into difficulties.
