Good Shepherd Festival 2009

At the end of our week long G S Festival I have no words to thank and appreciate the efforts of all who have made it a great success. As promised earlier, it was our church’s desire to go out and beyond the four walls of the church and celebrate our faith. It was a challenging but successful endeavour particularly from the part of many young families. Well done and Congratulations!

That God’s mission is to be proclaimed and announced is a biblical command.   Down the centuries the church has obeyed this command and the means used was “preaching”. Now in the modern times we need to proclaim it with all the means at our disposal and also with a note of joy.  Celebration of our faith life and of God’s mission was our aim during the week.

Certainly, the signs of times demand it and the church with its followers respond. It is difficult to say what harvest we shall obtain from what we sow, but we leave it to God. As St Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3.6ff  “I did the planting, Apollos did the watering, but God gave growth … after all we share in God’s work; you are God’s farm, God’s building”.

Taste and see how good is the Lord! It is wonderful to experience our growing faith in it’s liturgical, personal and mission celebrations. With this great success in this year’s G S Fest celebrations our church has certainly been blessed and we shall continue to celebrate.
