Webmasters Comments
It's the little things that count
ok I've updated the news and tweaked the new spine of the site, I've also fixed the main page (very sorry about that there was a wrong number to find and fix) the scrollbars might look a bit different (Internet Explorer only sorry FireFox and Netscape people also those of you with Macs I don't think the colours on the scrollbars work for you but since I have no access to one I'm slightly stuck there, anyway back to what I was saying) this is cause I'm colouring them in a new way cause the international web standards people (W3C) objected to the old way cause it's not actually correct so I had to find a new way. On a slightly different note there should be a little icon in the address bar (I know it works in FireFox so fingers crossed on the other browsers, let me know if it doesn't)
hope you had a great Easter

I must be mad
And I've done it again, I spent nearly the whole day doing stuff behind the scenes. The only thing you'll notice is that the links go lighter when you hover over them, You also might notice the site is faster. The reason for this change? I've given the site a new back bone and ripped out a load of code, the pages are now smaller but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking.
See you later tonight guys

Would you believe it?
Well guys I've just spent three hours updating the site, though I know the only thing you might notice is the copyright message in the corner and the strange picture opposite it. Well that picture is a way of saying that the site is good, it says all the code on the site is correct and it's been designed well. So mainly its something to make me feel good about it but it does show how good this site is to the world. The main thing I've been doing is tidying up, I've organised all the code for the site and made it a lot more effective, this doesn't actually mean anything to you as a user but hey I've worked like a dog for 3 hours on something no one will ever see so I think I deserve some way so letting you know it's been done. The password protected bit is now done, ask me for the password and if anyone finds any faults with the site let me know and I'll tell you if it's anything I can resolve or something I have already fixed but it might not be obvious
Remember the sheets are up for committee nominations so make sure you get the names down of the people you want
See you all Thursday

Welcome and Website News
Before I start I think this section needs some explanation. After updating the website on Thursday and proclaiming this with lots on information on the news page I had a thought (no seriously I had a thought, what's that look for? I have them occasionally). this thought was that I had just spammed up the News page with information that wasn't really news, it wasn't general news about the band or organisation and it wasn't news about an individual players achievement (I don't count my work on the site in that category), it was just me talking about the site, what is on it and what I plan to do to it. Now I realised that I couldn't really do this on a regular basis and since there were going to be quite a few updates in a short period of time and if I didn't do something it was going to happen a lot more. So I came up with this as a partner to the news, a place for me to say about all the aspects of the site, to give web related information, tell you what I plan to do and basically blow my own Trombone (hey I'm not saying trumpet, I'm a Trombonist and proud of it). As you may have already noticed this is substantially more relaxed in presentation then the rest of the site because this is just a pop in and chat section rather then serious news. Before anyone says anything this sort of section is a common occurrence on professional websites which are maintained by an individual and the best way I have devised to inform people about what has been updated
With that over on to my list of new updates since Thursday:
First off there's this as an offshoot of the news
Secondly the Gallery has been redesigned and shrunk to save space as well as making the site faster (hopefully). Other Gallery updates include new captions on pictures that might not have had them and a more fun and stable way to view pictures (so this one looks good and works rather then one or the other)
Thirdly Videos now have a place to call their own so anymore videos of concerts are just as welcome as images though .mov (QuickTime) format is preferred but I can convert the files, pictures are welcome in any format
And finally I've added a way to show where updates have occurred it's a yellow next to the Valves linked to the updated pages just to catch your eye, there's also a line below the title because I thought it looks quite snappy and stylish
Other Stuff:
The password protected section it coming along there are just a few technical problems to resolve and then that should be working, please email me with anything you want including in that section (games information etc...) or if you have any site you believe we should link to or has something we could use. now there are 2 very good reasons for this, 1 it means you get exactly what you want on this site and 2 I'm lazy and very busy so don't really want to have to be looking around the internet for things to include only to find they're not what people want
Oh just a little thing I've added and I forgot if you use a mobile device (mobile phone, PDA) to view the site it now has a new layout just for you
That's all I have to say for now so I'll post again when I next update or something comes to me I should include
Practice lots lol
