Tebbutt Family

ALBERT 1875-1962

Albert was one of Silas' younger children, a carpenter by trade who moved to Bedfordshire around 1908 to find work. Albert turned his back on his strict Methodist upbringing, and enjoyed a drink, a smoke and an occasional game of cards.

LEONARD 1905-1981

Leonard, or Len as he was better known, was one of Albert's six children and a bricklayer by trade. He fought in the Second World War and was in the infamous D-Day landings.

Len was the last of the direct Tebbutt line to be born in Polebrook, moving to Bedfordshire with his father at the age of three.

MICHAEL born 1935

Michael married Ellen 1955 and they had 6 children. All are now married with families of their own.


Although born in Luton, Bedfordshire, the whole family has moved northwards, some to Bedford itself, others to Northamptonshire.
