JOHN 1787-1853
William's son John was born in Titchmarch but moved to Benefield, Northamptonshire, where he married Elizabeth Allen and became a gamekeeper and gentleman's servant at nearby Biggin Hall.
(Above) Biggin Hall as it is today. In John's time the house was probably a much smaller brick-built house - at some point it was greatly enlarged with the addition of a large stone portico and two Palladian wings.
(Left) The interior of the church at Lower Benefield. John is buried in the grounds but unfortunately there is now no trace of his grave.

CHARLES 1820-1876
Charles was born in Benefield, but moved to Polebrook, Northamptonshire, where he married Rebecca Leigh. He was a stonemason by trade and a strict Methodist. He became a Weslyan preacher and built Polebrook's Methodist Chapel in 1863.
Charles' brother Samuel's family moved north to work in the mines and now form a large family group based in Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
