Outreach

The Society is performing more outreach activities as the years go on.

The Season 2005/2006 saw two performances in the community. The first was a performance of "Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo" by Michael Flanders and Joseph Horowitz at the Leys school, Stevenage on a raging hot afternoon in July 2006. Both the children and the choir enjoyed the event. Later in the year we performed the same piece for the general public in Asda.

We did a further two outreach events in 2007. They were at Silkin Court on the 22nd March 2007 and Camps Hill School on the 29th March 2007. We performed "Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo" and some other songs.

In 2008, as in some earlier years, we did a Christmas "sing song" at Silkin Court mixing the new carols that we learnt for our Christmas concert with many of the tried and trusted carols that everyone knows. At Christmas some of the members also joined with the Salvation Army band and the Rotary club to sing carols at Tesco in Baldock to help the Rotary Club with their Christmas collection.
