Lost property

A bag with some bottles of water was left at the Church in the vestry after the concert...I'm guessing it's one of our number....Drop me a line (click here) or call me on 01438 226044 and we'll sort out getting it successfully back to the correct owner.

Haydn - The Creation;

Youtube

There are shed loads of excerpts on YouTube. Here's just a few for you to consider (not sure whether we are doing this in English or German but I found a cracking German recording and have instanced it below);

German Version (Conductor Nikolas Harnoncourt, Orchestra - Concentus Musicus Wien, Soloists - Dorothea Röschmann, Werner Güra and Ruben Drole, Choir - Arnold Schoenberg Choir. Recorded live in Graz, Austria in 2010. Wonderfully clear recording). Boring visual! Whole piece in one recording.

English version - Part 1
English version - Part 2
English version - Part 3
(Conductor Paul McReesh, Orchestra - Gabrieli Players, Soloists - Miah Persson, Sandrine Piau,Neal Davies, Peter Harvey and Mark Padmore , Choir - Gabrieli Consort and Chethams Chamber Choir. Wonderfully Archiv recording) Whole piece in 3 sections . CD is Archiv 477 7361 - review can be found here - it has much background history about versions of the text

Choraline
This company produces instrumental versions of the piece with the appropriate voice brought to the fore. Generally the experience of these is very good - recording of the real instrument gives a clear stereo position and seems easier to hear than some of the synthesized versions.They do produce practice CDs and MP3 recordings for this piece. They can be bought from here. Cost is approximately £11.99 (CD includes postage) or £7.99 (MP3 download).

Cyberbass
Piece is supported. The relevant page is here. At this point I'm not sure whether Cyberbass covers all the appropriate sections....watch this space for updates.

Home brew
Currently there'll be none produced for this piece as it will be better covered by folks like Choraline and Cyberbass.

Learning Support resources (for the future)

Alexander L’Estrange - Zimbe :

This is a work we may do in future terms - I was able to show a display of samples (audio and video) from this piece that was downloaded onto my PC for display purposes only.......I had said I would make the samples available to you to listen on your own PC. After a bit of detective work I was able to isolate where the audio files were and I point directly to them by the links below.....

To listen once just click on the link and the appropriate file SHOULD load in your Web browser and play using the player which should load automatically.....To download these samples (if you are using a windows PC and Internet Explorer) simply do a right button mouse click on the sample you wish to download and select "Save Target as.." from the drop down menu. Give it a name and choose a spot on your machine to save it to.

NOTE: This doesn't contravene copyright per se as I am pointing to the original files on the original site NOT making a local copy, additionally the author allows these excerpts to be downloaded (it states this on the sample page on the Zimbe site). All I am doing here is avoiding having to embed players onto this web page.
