After several months of waiting the Football Foundation has finally announced that it will fund futsal-leeds.org for the next 3 years. This is very good news as it gives the opportunity to promote the futsal game throughout West Yorkshire.

During the next 3 years coaching will be offered in 24 primary schools and 9 inner city areas. In addition 120 futsal coaching qualificationand 45 futsal refereeing qualification courses will be made available at a significantly reduced rate.

There will also be a number of publicity/familiarisation events held across the region to showcase the futsal game. (The first of these takes place at the Rothwell Sports Centre on 16 December 2007)

Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation welcomed this latest funding boost: “We warmly congratulate futsal-leeds.org for their hard work and dedication in securing this award. Grass roots football is the lifeblood of the game in this country which is why it is vital that projects such as this now have the benefit of Foundation cash.”
