This is the last Will and Testament of me William Witt of Hoppers
Road Winchmore Hill in the County of Middlesex First I direct all my just debts funeral
and testamentary expences to be paid by my executors hereinafter named out of my
residuary personal estate hereinafter bequeathed

I give and bequeath all that my leasehold messuage or dwellinghouse with the
outbuildings fixtures and appurtenances situate in Hoppers Road Winchmore Hill
aforesaid unto and to the use of my brother George Witt his executors administrators
and assigns absolutely subject nevertheless to the mortgage debt or sum of one
hundred and thirty pounds now charged thereon and also on condition of his paying
the yearly interest on the said sum of one hundred and thirty pounds and the ground
rent payable in respect of the said premises from the twenty fifth day of December
one thousand eight hundred and fifty three I give devise and bequeath all and
singular my household furniture plate linen china pictures and effects and all and
singular other my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my
said brother George Witt and my friend Alfred Hall of Broad Street in the City of
London Stationer their heirs executors and administrators upon trust nevertheless to
sell and convert into money such parts thereof as shall not consist of money and do
and shall pay and divide the monies to arise therefrom and also what money I may
be possessed of at the time of my decease after payment of my just debts funeral
and testamentary expenses as aforesaid unto and equally between all and every my
children William Witt Charles Witt George Witt Hannah the wife of John Smithers
Elizabeth the wife of John Martin Alice the wife of James Parkins Mary the wife of
James Martin and Ann the wife of John Perkins and their respective heirs executors
and administrators and assigns And I do declare that the receipts or receipt of my
said trustees and executors or the survivor of them and the executors and
administrators of such survivor shall be sufficient discharge and discharges to all and
every person and persons paying monies to them under this my will and that they my
said executors shall not be answerable or accountable for the acts receipts or
defaults of the other of them nor for involuntary losses and further that my said
executors may out of my monies that may from time to time come into his or their
hands reimburse himself and themselves all costs charges and expenses that he or
they may incur or be put to in the execution of the trusts thereof And last I do hereby
nominate constitute and appoint my said Brother George Witt and the said Alfred Hall
Executors of this my will and hereby revoking all former wills by me made do declare
this and this alone to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred

Signed by the said William Witt the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in
the presence of us who were both present at the same time and who at his request in
his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set and subscribed
our names as witnesses attesting the same -- Chas. Fredk. Jepps 70 Virginia

Proved at London the 7th February 1856 before the worshipful Thomas Spinks
Doctor of Law and Surrogate by the oath of Alfred John Hall (in the will written Alfred
Hall) out of the executors to whom administration was granted having been first
sworn only to administer power reserved of making the like grant to George Witt the
Brother the other executor when he shall apply for the same
