  In the Name of God Amen
I, Isaac Barker of Steeple in the County of Essex
Yeoman being of Sound and Disposing Mind Memory and
Understanding (Blessed be god) Do make and Ordain this my last
Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) First
I Give and Devise unto my Daughter Sarah Barker and her
Heirs for Ever All and Every my Copyhold or Customary Messua-
ges or Tenements Farm Lands and Hereditaments with their
and Every of their Appurtenances situate and being in
Danbury in the Said County of Essex holden of the Manor
of Bicknacre Priory and now in the Several Tenures or
Occupations of Joseph Hawkes and ____ Markeridge
their or one of their Undertenants or Assigns Also I Give
and Bequeath unto my Son Isaac Barker the Sum of One
Hundred Pounds And unto my Son John Barker the sum of
Two Hundred Pounds And unto my Daughter Elizabeth
Barker the like Sum of Two Hundred Pounds, the Said Several
Legacies to be paid at the End of Twelve Calendar Months
next after my Demise And I Give and Bequeath unto my
Sons Thomas Barker and Joseph Barker the Sum of Two
Hundred Pounds a piece And unto my daughter Mary
Barker the like sum of Two Hundred Pounds the Said
Legacies to my Said Sons Thomas and Joseph to be Paid
to them Severally at their respective Ages of one and Twenty
Years And the said Legacy to my said Daughter Mary to be
paid to her at her age of one and Twenty Years or day of
Marriage which shall first happen And I Give and
Bequeath the leases of my Farms and all my Right Interest
and Terms of years in such Farms And all and Every my
Monies Securities for Money Goods Chattels Emblements
Debts Stock Effects and Personal Estates whatsoever not herein
before by me given or Disposed of (my Just Debts Funeral Charges
and the Costs of the Probate of this my Will being first paid and
satisfied) Unto my Loving Wife Elizabeth Barker her Executors
and Administrators to and for their own use and
benefit But Upon this Condition Nevertheless That my Said
Wife her Executors or Administrators Do and Shall at her or
their own Costs and Charges Maintain Educate and bring up
my Said Sons Thomas and Joseph Barker Untill they shall
Severally Attain the Age of One and Twenty Years and my
Said Daughters Mary and Sarah untill they shall Severally
Attain the like Age or be Married and Fund and Provide
Clothes Schooling and all other Necessaries proper and
Convenient for them without asking or requiring any thing of
them or any of them or Deducting or retaining any thing out of
their or any of their Portions or Fortunes for or upon Account
of Such Their Maintenance and Education Clothing Schooling
or otherwise And I do Nominate make and Appoint my
Said Wife Elizabeth Barker Sole Executrix of this my last
Will and Testament And also Guardian of my Said Infant
Children during their respective Minorities and do Revoke all
other Wills by me made Declaring this to be my last Will and
Testament In Witness whereof I the Said Isaac Barker
the Testator have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Ninth
day of June in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven
Hundred and Fifty Nine Isaac Barker. Signed Sealed
Published and Declared by the Said Isaac Barker as and for
his last Will and Testament in our Presence and attested by us
in his Presence Robt Cottiss John Snushall Willm Smart
This Will
was proved on the twentieth day of August in the Year of
our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Nine before
me Reverend George Cowperthwaite Clerk Surrogate upon the
Oath of Elizabeth Barker Widow the Relict of the Deceased
and Sole Executrix to whom Administration of all and Singular
the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased was Granted
and Committed She being first Sworn duly to Administration
