Notes: Mary emigrated to Van Dieman's Land with her husband in 1838 (see
notes for husband James MARTIN). James & Mary MARTIN's arrival down under was
recorded in Mary's brother William WITT's autobiographical "An Account of His Life" (on page
13).
Mary was named as one of the beneficiaries of her father William WITT's will in 1856, where she
is identified as the wife of James MARTIN.
James MARTIN and Mary WITT were the great-great-grandparents of Verity Baylis.
