Although Sarah PRACY was recorded as a spinster at her marriage to William DAY, it is believed that she had been previously married to William Durly MEACHEM. There was no other Sarah PRACY who could have done so. The continued existence of her first husband is presumably the reason why Sarah failed to marry the father of her first three children, William DAY. She finally married William DAY just before the birth of their 4th child, which might indicate that William Durly MEACHEM had by then died. Further research required.....
