SAD NEWS. My XR2i was finally taken to Kettering scrap yard on the 15th December 2005 due to the broken gearbox.
I owned a 1990 Ford Fiesta XR2i and was formally a member of the XR Owners Club and the Fiesta Club of Great Britain. I attended many car shows through out the years with both clubs and can recommend joining for all the many benefits.

Ford Racing's Boreham factory has taken delivery of a new shape Fiesta bodyshell, which will form the basis of the marque's new Super 1600 Rallye challenger from 2003.
Ford racing business manager Alan Rose said:"We've got a bodyshell which we are using for packaging purposes, and hopefully we will start on some serious test and development work next year. The intention is for the car to be ready by 2003."
The move to the Fiesta has been prompted by the Puma going out of production at the end of 2001.
The Fiesta is expected to be a volume seller, and makes strong marketing sense for Ford.
"We expect to get a lot of value for money out of our rally campaign with the Fiesta," said Rose.
The Puma will live on next year, and Ford has pledged to provide parts and support for as long as customers require them into the future.
The Fiesta should be seen in Britain, the world championship and also on the newly-formed French Super 1600 championship.
"It's something that Ford France are keen on," said Rose. "Three French manufacturers - Peugeot, Citroen and Renault - have already committed to it. We'd like Ford to be the fourth."
Ford will run Martin Rowe in a Super 1600 on the Rally GB, and are currently negotiating with the Manxman for 2002.
Whilst I will try to help you if you have a query about your Fiesta, I only really know about my XR2i so don't expect miracles! For all other Fiesta related problems may I suggest you try the Fiesta-enthusiasts web group as they will be better able to help you.
