LDDA Liberal Democrats - Working For People With Disabilities
The Liberal Democrat Disability Association (LDDA) was set up in 1998 with the assistance of Paddy Ashdown. It grew out of a working group that was set up at his request.
The Association has for many years been working to improve access at conference for party members, disabled and able-bodied alike. It works with the conference office to ensure that as much as possible of conference is accessible to all, and has facilities such as signing and colour coding.
Under its new chairman, Robert Adamson, LDDA to develop into really useful and powerful resource within the Liberal Democrats.
LDDA's plans are more ambitious than this, The Association intends to set up regional and constituency Disability Officers and to ensure that there are disability spokesperons in all the Assemblies and Parliaments within the UK and within the European Parliament. They intend to visit every regional conference in England to run workshops on disability.
If you are disabled or look after a person with disabilities or are a professional working in the field of disability the the LDDA needs you to join and to help them with this important project.
