Poem by Isobel Bryan

I Have Not Gone

Do not weep for me, I have not gone,
Though too often fleeting for your mortal eye,
I am still near,
I am the breeze that fans your cheek,
At dawn,
And the sudden peace that chases all,
Your tears.

I am the light that guides when dark,
Clouds gather,
I am the voice unspoken in your heart
I am the bridge that leads you to the,
Father
I am your solace though we are apart.

I’m always there through both your tears,
And laughter,
I am the unseen guest at special times,
I’m your companion now and in the
Hereafter
I’ll take your hand when your departing,
Hour chimes.

Then we can bid farewell to all our sorrow,
Set off together into that rosy dawn,
Walk hand in hand each day into tomorrow,
The pain of this brief tome of parting gone.
