ONE-SIZE NAPPIES | ORGANIC NAPPIES

One-size Nappies
£12 each

~ The motif on the front of each nappy is hand-stitched. I can even personalise nappies. If you have a particular design in mind or an initial you want stitched please contact me and I will be happy to make something unique for you.

~ The nappy has an anti-pil polyester fleece lining that acts as one-way barrier to moisture, keeping moisture away from baby's skin. The absorbent outer layer is made from superior quality, soft cotton towelling.

~ There is a double-layer, towelling pad incorporated into the nappy that folds out for quick drying and the pocket allows for additional booster material to be added. Bumbeano booster pads for use with Bumbeano nappies can be purchased seperately.

~ Sizewise, these nappies will fit from birth to potty as they have no fixed fastening. For newborn babies just fold the front in and cross the tabs over one another.

~ I recommend that the nappy be fastened with a 'nappi-nippa' or a nappy pin. They are low-cost and available from most good chemists and baby supplies shops.

~ A separate outer waterproof wrap is also needed (not supplied).

Bumbeano Bumboos
£13 each

~ My one-size, organic nappies have a bamboo towelling inner and hemp/organic cotton fleece outer.

~ Bamboo is naturally 'organic' in nature as it has a rapid growth cycle that requires no chemicals and little water. It is also naturally bacteria-resistant and biodegradable. It is extremely absorbent and in tests absorbs 35% to 40% more moisture than equivalent cotton yarn. It has a lovely soft and silky texture too.

~ The fleece lining in this nappy is made from 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton. Hemp is a robust, fast-growing plant that requires no pesticide or fertilizer to grow and so is organic in nature. Although hemp is a course fibre, the organic cotton adds softness to the fabric whilst still retaining great absorbency. The fleece liner wicks moisture to the nappy lining and prevents it from seeping back to baby's skin. The result is that baby's bottom stays lovely and dry.

Washable Sanitary Pads ***NEW***
£5-£6 each

~ These washable pads are made from fleece with a cotton towelling core. They have a waterproof
lining and are backed with a fun, cotton print. Soft and comfortable, they are great for the
environment and better for you - no plastic or chemicals next to your skin. They come in different
absorbencies and sizes - night-time (longer and triple thickness terry); med-heavy flow (double
thickness terry); light-med flow (single thickness terry); and pantyliner (single thickness flannel). I make a complete set of pads - called the 'Rag-bag' that contains enough pads to see you through your period and comes in a handy, drawstring sack.

If you want an organic pad then try out my hemp/organic fleece pads with bamboo terry towelling core. Or for a more funky look, why not try my new tie-dyed bamboo velour pads?

Washable Fleece Liners
£3 for 10

~ Shaped, fleece, washable nappy liners that are stitched to retain shape. The fleece acts as a one-way barrier to moisture, allowing wetness to soak through to the nappy and keeping baby's bottom dry. Simply shake solids down the toilet and pop in the wash with your other nappies. These liners are compatible with any other washable nappy system. Available in various colours and patterns - please contact me for details.

Booster Pads
£2 each

~ Highly absorbent triple, or quadruple thickness towelling pads that can be inserted into the pocket to boost absorption. I recommend 2 pads for boosting a nappy for a medium-heavy wetter. Available in various colours - please contact me for details.

Notes on nappy care:
The nappies can be washed at 60 degrees (but I find a 40 degree wash is usually sufficient with the odd hot wash to shift particulalry stubborn stains). They should be pre-washed before using so as to ensure maximum absorbency. Do not use a fabric conditioner as this leaves a residue on the fabric that reduces absorption. Personally, I find pre-soaking nappies is unnecessary as long as dirty nappies are rinsed prior to placing them in the nappy bin. The bin can be sanitised and bad odours prevented by the addition of a few drops of tea-tree oil. Nappies are best line-dried outdoors as sunshine acts as a bleaching agent, however they can be tumble-dried safely on a medium setting.

A final note:
I switched to washable nappies after the birth of my second son and I have found them so easy to use that I wished I had used them for my first baby as well. The nappies I use on my own baby are the same as the ones I sell.
