10. African Elephant - The King of the beasts is always a popular choice. Not for the amateur enthusiast, this beast should only be hired by experienced animal custodians. Mating pairs are available (NB: any offspring conceived and born whilst the animals are on hire are the property of Hugheshire Ltd and must be returned immediately.) From $500 per day.

9. Chinchilla - This cute, loveable rodent reamins a firm favourite in our top ten list. We boast Europes largest stock of Chinchillas for hire with some 23000 (twenty three thousand) animals on hire or in our warehouse at any one time. Only available in groups of ten or more. (Please note that these are energetic animals and are therefore not recommended for the elderly or people with physical disabilities. From $25 per group/ per hour.

8. Arctic Monkeys. Popularised by a modern UK guitar band, our range of arctic, or snow monkeys from the arctic circle are in high demand of late. With stock levels of only 30 there is a 3-4 week waiting list. Call to add your name. {Please note that prank callers attempting to purchase music CDs will be reported to the Police). 7. Killer Whales/Orca - Our most popular aquatic mammal. Orcas are high demand creatures and can not be cared for in your average garden pond. A saltwater pool is required with a full filtration system, and preferably some kind of wave machine. These are very dangerous animals and life insurance policies must be produced before hire is permitted. From $2000 per day

6. Termites - These African insects are the ideal rental for garden construction work. A colony of ten thousand can shift three ton of topsoil in just one week. Special rates available for quantities exceeding one million termites - call for details. From $80 per 1000/per day.

5. Three toed sloth - Popular with relaxation therapists, the three toed sloth is one of the most docile creatures on earth. If you want an animal to help lower your stress levels, this is it. Please check the number of toes upon receipt of your sloth - two toed varieties are a lot more dynamic and they can get mixed up in our distribution centre. From $25 per week.

4. Dromedary - this is the single humped Camel and is the ideal animal for desert travel. Full instructions for mounting and riding are provided along with one free camel saddle per animal. Please note - these animals are shipped directly from the middle east and there may be a delay of up to 2 months. From $125 per day.

3. Lungfish - Something of a novelty rental this, we find no end of biology students wishing to rent lungfish for scientific experimentation. A Lungfish has the unique capability of surviving for days or even weeks without water, food or oxygen and can easily be revived with a simple procedure. All our Lungfish are delivered in vacuum packed, airtight containers and full instructions for their resuscitation are provided. From $12 per day

2. Anaconda - the famous Anaconda, a semi -aquatic snake from the Amazon basin is currently riding high at number two in our top ten rentals list. This huge snake is for the experienced reptile fanatic and is supplied with live food in the form of various rodents. All of our Anacondas are at least 30' long and weigh in excess of 20 stones. There is a strong possibility of the customer being crushed and swallowed whole if the instructions are not followed to the letter. From $85 per day.

1. Koala Bear - our most popular rental animal at the the moment. The lovable Koala Bear is a firm favourite at childrens parties and we have a 2 month waiting list. Care must be taken when the animal is handled near young children - it has very sharp teeth and will use them if provoked. In the unfortunate event of a Child's finger being bitten off, we provide an ice box and a free taxi voucher for immediate transferral to the nearest A&E department. From $34.99 per hour.
