So well done - and keep buying Fairtrade!

During the week to 14^th February 2005, KTJG members carried out a detailed survey of Fairtrade products in the supermarkets listed below.

The results are as follows:

The results of this survey were shared with many interested groups in Leicester with the hope that we can bring more pressure on individual supermarkets and head offices to stock more FAIRTRADE products.

Individual letters were sent to each supermarket manager together with the detail survey results, so that they could see how their competitors are performing for FAIRTRADE item by item

Perhaps you could influence your supermarket to stock more FAIRTRADE products or even re-examine where you shop!

Fairtrade at the Co-op

The Co-op is a keen Fairtrade Supporter - all their OWN BRAND coffee is now fairly traded. I even spotted a fairtrade Easter Egg – ask for these if you would like them

We surveyed the large Co-op store at Glenfield as well as the local store in Oadby. The results indicated are mainly – but not exclusively - from the larger store, so if you smaller local one doesn’t stock what you want, ask them to!!
