Revd Dr Peter Shepherd became our Minister at his induction service on 26 March 2011.

After graduating in economics from Nottingham University, he trained for ministry at Spurgeon’s College. He has served as minister of Baptist Churches in Yarmouth, Ormesby and Middlesbrough.

He is currently the Moderator of the East Midlands Baptist Association and serves on the Faith and Unity Executive of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

Peter has wide interests but has a particular interest in Baptist history.  Rita, his wife, is a teacher and currently teaches English to speakers of other languages for Derby Adult Learning Service. Peter and Rita met at University and have been married for 37 years.
