This
site is the best one we have stayed on this year and probably the best
since stating camping. Situated in Blue Anchor bay near Minehead this
is a top quality peaceful site. There are 103 pitches on one big level
field, about 50 of these were occupied when we were here, with plenty
of water points and bins.
The showers are wonderful, there warm and you have plenty of space
to move about. Plenty of sinks to wash and shave are provided and the
whole block is kept clean. There are four sinks to wash pots in so they
can be a bit crowded some times but its not hard to just leave the washing
till later !!!
There
is a good pool on site for children but it's not deep enough for adults
to have a serious swim. The adventure playground is quite good set in
amongst some trees with a fence round it to stop the really young ones
escaping.
The
only noise we had apart from the usual was the sound of steam trains
that run down the back of the site, which far from being annoying made
it more relaxing somehow. There is no club or pub on the site but you
can walk to the nearest one in about 5 to 10 mins.
You will need a car to go shopping the nearest ones being in Minehead
or watchet. To get to the supermarket, summerfields, follow the A39
to Minehead then the signs for Summer West world (butlins) and its on
your left.
The
first morning we were here I got up early about 8am, well its early
for me, to wash the pots and had the company of Two robins sitting at
my feet eating any stray crumbs. Then walking up to the shop to get
a paper I could see squirrels running from tree to tree!
We will use this site again !!!!!

Site on A396 approx 13miles from Minehead, all units accepted. Probably
the most helpful and relaxed site owners we have met. Young children
discouraged [no playground] . Level secluded site bordered on both sides
by streams, Water-Mill on site , very picturesque and peaceful.
Electric Hook-ups, TV reception poor-ariel useless,hook-ups available,
cable £1-00 pn, Pitches very spacious, Toilets and showers adequate, rubbish
cleared twice daily. Small shop/info at site entrance, always seemed
to be open. On arrival we were told to pitch first and pay later [even
on departure].
Good dog walk off site . Nearest pub 75m from site entrance. Meals
lunchtime and evenings ,takeaway meals , big portions fair prices. Dogs
welcome inside the pub [pheasant shooting area] .
Site situation best for touring Exmoor villages and walking . A396 very
twisty , not suitable for touring North Somerset Coast
