This caravan and camping site is just south of Banbury in Oxfordshire. It is central for Oxford, Stratford , Silverstone and the Cotswolds.

Bo Peep is an arable farm with a half-mile entrance driveway, woods, 1/4 mile of riverbank and circular walks all around the farm. It is a tranquil place with rabbits, doves and other wildlife etc. The site has all electric and spacious caravan pitches on grass and a big field for camping. Lovely views over the Cherwell valley. Excellent toilets, showers, veg preparation, telephones (in old red 'phone boxes!) etc.

The office sells papers, milk, gas etc. No "play" facilities, no pool but good dog walks all around the site. The site is privately owned but part of the Caravan Club and has five ticks from the British Tourist Board. Charges are standard CC "middle" rates and there are no extra charges for showers or hot water.

The site is, not surprisingly, popular during busy periods such as Bank Holiday weekends and the British Grand Prix (middle of July) and early booking is essential for caravans. Tents always have space! The site office has a full brochure - 'phone/fax number is 44-1295-810605. They also have a caravan storage area for over 100 vans which is hidden in an old railway cutting. It's a good area for eating out and real ales...

The site was easy to find with good signage from both directions off the main A40.
We arrived about 6.30pm on Saturday night and by that time it waspretty full. The River Evenlode runs through the site and forms a focus for campers and in particular children. There are some static vans but these are in their own separate area. The area along the river from the reception / shop side of the site is taken up with tents. Across the river, by means of an old railway bridge, is the main area for caravans, but tents are also accommodated. The most popular pitches are along the river bank. We were lucky enough to have one of these pitches but you have to be prepared to accept that people, children in particular, gain access to the river through the pitched caravans. So there is not much privacy around these pitches and it can be a bit noisy. The kids were well behaved so it did not prove to be too much of a problem.

In my view the size of the pitches were a bit tight but about average for a non-club site. It did not help that the guy next door had pitched his van too far over towards our pitch. If I had
stuck to the markings of my pitch he would not have been able to open his caravan door!

Anyway we were only there for a couple of days. There are two toilet/shower blocks of older design. They were perfectly clean but were a little off the standards you would expect from a CC site. Our two night stay, two adults, electricity but no awning or pets cost £23.
