This
is a Haven Holiday Site but The Best we have stayed on !! The park
is situated bellow the quiet little market town of Wooler on the edge
of the Northumbria National Park. The touring site is set apart from
the Static vans with a shallow river running behind. The toilets and
shower are fairly clean and hot. There are
dishwashing sinks, washing machine, Iron and hair dryer (20p) Also
adveture play grounds for the kids and electric hook ups are avaliable. The
site is fairly quite and the club house and spa pool are on the other
side of the road. You can fish for free in the shallow river at the
back of the site or if you feel a little bit adventurous try the fly
fishing at £10 a session.
The
town of Wooler is the nearest place to shop and if you are fit you
can walk the steep and I mean steep hill to the town. There are two
small supermarket type shops one being a small CoOp, these were open
to 10pm when we visited. The town also has bakeries and butchers and
the most important of all PUBS.You are in Border Country which is
really beautiful so make the most of it and take a trip to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
The walk around the old city walls and the barracks is well worth
doing.
Overall this was a quite a quiet site considering it
was full and all the staff were very helpful, so, we will be going
back!!

The
site is 50 yards away from the beach wich is good if you have kids
as there is nothing at all on the site fo them to do. The facilities,
showers, toilets, dishwashing sinks are really clean and well looked
after. The pitches are fairly flat with some sloping. There are no
electric hook ups.
If
you want a quite site then this is for you and if you have children
then pray for good weather if you go here. We won't be going back
because of the lack of electricity and any play area for the kids.
The
actual village of beadnell is quite nice with two good pubs, the caster
arms being the best for food. The beaches are really good with masive
sand dunes. Bamburgh Castle is nearby and is well worth seeing although
the contents of the castle are a bit of a let down, more of a collection
of antiques. Seahouses is just up the road with all the usuall sea
side things and a fantastic fish shop in the back streets that do
kippers to die for!!!
We
intend to go back to the area but will stay at the site at Wooler.
