Not ‘just’ a great name…THE CASINO BRAWL can back it all up with the perfect tirade of soaring melodies and city leveling - bruising breakdowns…

From the North-East of the England; TCB were formed in 2006 with Jonny Ferguson (Synth, vocals, samples), Adam Ridley (guitar), Marc Henessey (guitar), Jamie Common (bass) and James Summersby (drums). In November 06 TCB went to Outhouse studios (Enter Shikari) and recorded their first 4 song demo. Since then they have played successful and packed out dates across Europe with their relentless and unpredictably explosive live shows enforcing and furthering a furiously expanding international fan-base. Selling out UK venues and only ever improving their critically acclaimed stage show this band is accepted by both the hardcore elite and mainstream ‘sing a long’ audience - this band have it all, constantly galvanizing and inspiring industry and music fans alike wherever they go.

The summer of ‘08’ and the highly respected and successful UK label ‘In at the Deep End’ (Gallows, Architects, Shaped By Fate) snatches up the band for their debut album. With large amount of European attention the LP will be released to the high demand and mass anticipation of so many across the UK and much further afield. The band recorded the full length release (mastered by Alan Douches – Converge, Mastodon, Dillinger), about the new record Jonny (vocals) says “Everything I write about is real and is based on experience on some level or another so I hope that people will be able to relate to the songs. It's a pretty feel good record too and I hope it makes people do just that...”

Also about the new album Jonny goes on to comment “I'd say it’s very different. The previous releases we've had were just us finding what we were about. We started off playing pretty basic kind of metal/hardcore mix-ups and as we progressed, we dropped some things like the synth and found more comfort in lighter, poppier sounds. I think this is the first record that people will get the full idea of who we are”. “When we started writing the record, we didn't think ‘we want it to sound like this’ or anything. I think we really found our style. We all listen to very different types of music and it was finding a balance of what we'd all like playing and hearing. We wanted to write a fun sounding record as we're not like a total arms folded, serious band. But at the same time, we do have a deeper, meaningful side to us and we wanted to show that through the music too. The balance we got is what you hear and we're all pleased with it. After the first few songs, everything just seemed to flow out of us quite naturally”.

The Casino Brawl have played shows and toured alongside the likes of; Poison the Well, Flood of Red, Exit Ten, Glamour of the Kill, Bring Me the Horizon, The Ghost of a Thousand, Rolo Tomassi, Eternal Lord with more coming up very soon…they are one of the UK’s hottest young, metal acts. Also band of the week on BBC Radio1 Rock Show, July ‘08.

2009 will definitely be a year that will belong to this band. More tours are constantly being planned, shows and press are rapidly appearing all over the UK already…just don’t miss out when you get the chance to witness this band…

Streetvoice UK 10/10
For far too long we've had to rely on HC bands such as Atreyu, Escape The Face and Silverstein to name but a few. It's just a shame that many UK bands trying to capture that American sound haven't managed to pull it off both musically and vocally. Not forgetting the high quality either! Into the picture comes North East band 'The Casino Brawl' who's crashing guitars and soaring melodies who I believe can compete and in most cases better than what America is producing at present. The proof of this lies with their new album 'Shades Directions' which is a killer of a release and really does need to be heard! In fact to get the best out of this album you have to turn up the volume. It's fair to say this is only the second release this year that my partner and I actually agree on is of high quality. There's ten tracks over thirty seven minutes which some might find a little too short but how I look at it I'd rather have quality over quantity any day. From start to finish this album is a quality release. It's like drinking a fine bottle of vintage champagne. Yes it's that good! The wicked guitar work from Adam and Marc is amazing and complementing that work are the awesome bass lines from Jamie. James keeps it altogether on drums leaving Jonny to deliver some of the best vocals I've heard this year. The man knows how to sing with a melody and he's even better when he comes to the HC/Screamo parts. There's not one filler on this release and you know when you have a great album on your hands when you can't pick out a favourite track. Every track is given the same love and attention and you know you've got a great band on your hand when this happens. If I have to be forced into listing my favourite tracks I'd go for 'Into The Light', 'You Can't Save Them All' and 'Transition/remission'. However that could change tomorrow. The production is spot on and packaging top not. Totally faultless!

Mass Movement
The Casino Brawl has definitely pulled it off! Styles like screamo and metalcore have become more than a little stale these past few years. This English band have single handedly lit up the brewery again, and amazing tasting tunes have been bottled up for all to enjoy. What’s not to like… hard hitting metal, crazy break downs and Gallows like rock from the underbelly of human emotions, combined with Death By Stereo like variety. There’s this self-esteem jumping of ‘Shades; Direction’ which is normally not at all common for European bands. The Casino Brawl know these songs are good and can deliver that message without hesitation. Maybe Alan Douches, who mastered the record, gave them a bit of an American feel. It all seems to come naturally to these guys, but it’s never easy, listen more closely. Check them out!
