A Brief History
Fidget, a Cranchi Giada 30, was bought by us in June 2004 after a long search for our first boat. We'd been impressed with the Cranchi range since seeing them at the Southampton Boat show. From our first viewing of Fidget it was clear that she'd been well looked after by her previous owners and we quickly decided to buy. We enjoyed a smooth purchase through Crest Marine who had her on brokerage. The survey showed nothing untoward other than a few minor items which have all subsequently been addressed.
Fidget, a 2000 model being commissioned in Apr of that year and still looking good today. She has just 427 hours on the port engine and 435 on the starboard. Regularly serviced through her life initially by Volvo Main dealers and then jointly between myself and DPT Engineering since coming in to our ownership. She runs smoothly, very economically and has perfect oil pressures on both engines. Her temperature gauges remain constant regardless of cruising speeds.
Fidget is moored in Chichester Marina and during the last two seasons has taken us safely and reliably East to Brighton and to the River Dart in the West. We've enjoyed many day and weekend trips through out the Solent.
Due to the children getting older and their requirement to always bring a friend we need to go larger so Fidget is now reluctantly for sale.
Equipment & Inventory
Covers: Fidget comes with three covers, one tonneau cover for the winter lay-up and two camper covers. The original white 'spring & autumn' covers are perfectly serviceable but starting to show their age. The brand new blue 'summer', covers have only seen a weeks use and were made by JB Yacht Services, probably the most highly recommended cover guy in the south. The new covers have numerous improvements over the originals. Superior material with larger better quality windows, far more flexibility with numerous openings including one to the front to allow access to the bow with all covers up. Fidget can run with about nine different cover options so there should be a suitable combination whatever the weather.
Electronics: The colour Simrad CP33 Chartplotter comes with a recent cartridge (2005) covering the English Channel. The CP33 allows storage of numerous waypoints and routes and is a very robust piece of equipment. The Chartplotter is linked to the Raytheon ST5000 Autopilot allowing you to have Fidget track your routes with a simple push of a button. Depth, log and water temperature are monitored by a B&G Quad. The VHF is a Simrad 8300 backed up by a handheld Icom M31 with fixed desktop charger in salon.
Deck: Nine matching fenders, with extra fender baskets for safe and tidy storage. A further larger fender is included which is handy to help fend of in locks etc. A pair of boat hooks. Ensign. Good selection of warps. Telescopic davits for dinghy, ideal for dinghy measuring 2.4 metres.
Safety: Three auto inflating life jackets, two adult and one child. Set of flares (coastal pack). Fire extinguishers in engine room (automatic), cockpit, saloon, aft berth. Fire blanket.
Galley/Salon: Fridge with freezer compartment, 900w microwave, two ring gas hob with glass lid, sink, working surface with ample storage cupboards above and below. Stereo with speakers in salon and cockpit. Glomex TV point and amplifier. 12 volt and 240 volt power outlets.
