.: History - A year without Syth :..: A farewell to arms :.Like all things we care about, in order for them to be truly appreciated you have to lose them .. and Syth were no differentIn early 2007, Syth remaining a band was in questions .. at the time, the reasons to call it a day seemed to far outweight those to remain a band. So the band played the end of September at the Soundhaus, another gig to another crazy crowd. Nothing more would be heard until the Christmas Maiden Scotland gig where the band officially took a bow for the last time. With some members carrying on the duties, Al-K with Maiden Scotland and Baz with Grim-metallers 'Burning Earth', things were quiet on the Sythly front But remember the whole 'reasons to stop were greater than those to carry on'? ... well even we can talk some amount of bullshit, we were kidding nobody but it felt like the right thing to do at the time. Two and half years of progressing into a better musical entity all seemed for nothing .. Warzone was a massive learning curve for the band, good and bad. It was time to put that to one side in order for our focus to be shifted onto the much talked about 'Second Album' Having an album's worth of material is one huge reason to keep going, that combined with the fact that we absolutely love playing live .. that's what we do, and we do it well, no posing, no gimmicks, no unfounded ego's, just plain old no-bullshit metal ... August 2008 - Syth venture once again into the studio to honour the hard work, with most of the songs already well-received at gigs, the next logical step with an album's worth of material? The Reckoning would be recorded ... Next - This Reckoning spells your demise Previous - The arrival and subsequent departure of 'Al of D' History home home Text Size: 1 2 3 |
